Description DynaCrete® DynaWood+ was developed to permanently seal, waterproof, and harden wood products. DynaWood+ is water based, non-toxic, and non-flammable. The proprietary catalyst in DynaCrete® DynaWood+ allows it to penetrate the layers of cells in the wood, where DynaWood+ reacts with both the acids and the alkali present in the individual cells of most woods. DynaWood+ forms an aero silica gel membrane on the surfaces of the cell walls. This Permanent Internal Membrane forms a seal creating a barrier against water and other elements, which cause deterioration. During 6 to 12 months following application, the aero silica gel membrane will hydrate and harden into glass, petrifying the treated wood. DynaWood+ is effective whether applied on surfaces above or below grade. DynaWood+ can alter the color of wood, sometimes permanently. Therefore, test a small area and allow it to cure for at least 30 days to ensure no detrimental effects will occur: e.g., changes in color, texture, or other physical characteristic of the natural wood. DynaWood+ provides a prepared surface 300% more effective than wood for bonding of varnish, stains, paint, and mastics. Uses · Below-grade wooden basements · Decks, Fence Posts, Rails, and Slats · Siding and Shingles · Log Homes · Window Boxes, Frames and Sashes · Wooden Planters · Anything made of wood needing a longer life. |
· One-time application · Leaves clear, natural finish with no surface film · Helps wood retain longer structural integrity · Decreases or eliminates deterioration and weathering · Enables easier ice and snow removal · Increases resistance to grease, oils, and acids · Non-toxic, environmentally and ecologically friendly · Cleans up easily with water Application Equipment · Brush, Roller, or Mop · Low Pressure (20-30 psi) Sprayer Coverage Application varies depending on porosity of substrate. Coverage rates with DynaWood depend on the porosity and hardness of the wood being treated. Coverage ranges from 100 to 285 square feet per gallon. Surface Preparation Previously non-treated or bare wood needs no prior preparation. Existing paint or surface treatment must be removed for DynaWood+ to effectively penetrate. Remove paint, etc., by scraping, grinding, and / or applying a suitable caustic solvent remover. Mixing and Application 1. Although DynaCrete® DynaWood+ Is pre-mixed at the factory, shake it well before using; agitation enhances DynaWood’s penetration and effectiveness. 2. Do not dilute or mix DynaWood+ with water or any other liquid. Use only as supplied. 3. Normal applications require only one coat, but, depending on the porosity of the wood being treated, additional applications may be required. 4. Apply liberally and saturate all areas. On vertical surfaces, apply from the bottom up.

5. In problem areas where foreign matter such as grease or oil have penetrated below the surface, apply DynaWood+, then allow the foreign matter to be floated to the surface by the DynaWood+ as it penetrates. Flush foreign matter with water and reapply DynaWood+ after each flushing. Several applications may be needed in order to flush all such foreign matter to the surface. Note: While oil, for example, will be removed, stains from used motor oil may not. 6. DynaWood penetrates the surface within two to four hours after application. 7. Limited foot traffic is permissible in thirty minutes. 8. Clean up with clean water. Packaging · 5 gallon pails · 55 gallon drums Limitations 1. DynaCrete® DynaWood+ is water based; DynaWood+ will freeze, so it should never be applied if the surface or ambient temperature is freezing. Care should be taken to protect DynaWood+ if temperatures drop to freezing. Caution - Please Note: Do not apply DynaWood+ or allow any over-spray from applications to come in contact with glass, glazed surfaces, or aluminum, as etching will occur. In case of accidental contact, rinse thoroughly and immediately with water. 2. DynaWood+ is not meant to fill or seal visible cracks in wood. 3. For surfaces not specified in our literature or if you are uncertain about previous chemical treatments of the wood, we recommend first applying DynaWood+ to a small test area. 4. If DynaWood+ becomes frozen, thaw out completely; shake well, fully remix prior to using. Freezing will not harm the product. 5. DynaWood+ expands if it freezes, so it can and often does burst its containers if it freezes. 6. DynaWood+ will not reflect UV rays or inhibit damage from UV rays. |
