Description DynaCrete® PIM+ is not a surface sealer. DynaCrete® PIM+ forms a permanent internal membrane starting from 1/16th of an inch (1.5mm) below the surface and can penetrate up to 6” (150mm) and more into concrete and masonry. DynaCrete® PIM+ contains a proprietary catalyst which creates the following sequence of events: • PIM+ penetrates below the surface of concrete or alkali bearing substrates where it “pursues moisture” deep into concrete and masonry. • Upon contact with the “free” alkali (lime) and calcium hydroxides (in that moisture) PIM+ reacts to form a aero gel membrane on the (moist) surfaces of all voids and particulate, (sand, aggregate and cement) and instantly waterproofs the substrate. • Over time, this aero gel membrane hydrates and hardens into a solid, yet, breathing, internal, glass membrane thus providing a permanent seal and moisture barrier as well as increased surface hardness/dusting resistance and compressive and flexural strengths.
|
Uses • For all alkali bearing substrates, i.e. Concrete, Shotcrete, Stucco, Mortar, etc. • As a water-proofing, surface hardener, strengthener and stabilizer. • As a pre-treatment prior to the application of subsequent repair mortars, patching compounds, overlayments and coatings.
• Water based, non-toxic, environmentally and ecologically friendly. • Internally waterproofs (withstands hydrostatic pressure). • Retards grease, oil, and acid penetration. • Densifies, hardens, strengthens, and greatly extends the life of concrete and masonry. • Reduces or eliminates wear due to abrasion, freeze-thaw and salt attack. • Reduces or eliminates bacteria growth and “concrete sweating”. • “Stabilizes” and neutralizes concrete and masonry surfaces. • Enables easier removal of ice and snow. • Increases bond of top coats by 300%. • “Cures” new concrete uniformly. • Safe to handle, store, and transport.

Coverage Application varies depending on porosity of substrate. Test a small area prior to application to pre-determine coverage rate (See sponge test on next page). Typical coverage is as follows: Fully cured, float finished concrete floors with a high surface tension and low moisture content: 200-250 sq.ft/gal Substrates overlaid with polymerized mortar or concrete newly stripped of its forms: 100-150 sq.ft/gal Used as a curing treatment, or in extreme repair applications with high water content, coverage can range from 60-125 sq.ft/gal
Instructions for Use Surface Preparation: Concrete and masonry surfaces to be treated should be free of any cracks or defects greater than 1.5 mm (in width), and cleaned of any and all paint, laitance, dirt, dust, efflorescence, grease, grime etc., down to the bare concrete. Then use DynaCrete® PC (Penetrating Cleaner) as a final degreaser. In extreme cases, several applications of DynaCrete® PC followed by a thorough flushing with clean water may be required to remove all foreign matter. Note: While oil, for example, will be removed, some stains may not. Once clean, the surface need not be dry prior to the application of DynaCrete® PIM+. Ensure no puddles remain, remove excess water with mop or squeegee. Prepared surfaces should readily absorb DynaCrete® PIM+. |
